Background

In Fall of 2008, I took an Entomology class at OSU and one of our projects was to keep and observe a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach. I named my Goki, after the Japanese word for cockroach gokiburi. At the end of our study, I chose to keep mine as a pet. I've kept him ever since, and also acquired Chiquitita, Waterloo, and Aunt Jemima from a friend in Ponca City.

I had 4 now, but gave Aunt Jemima to my brother. Waterloo died several months later in a tragic accident I don't wish to recall.

In the Spring of 2009, Chiquitita had babies. Lots of them; somewhere around 34. I gave a few away and kept the others. I watched them grow and molt into adults.

Chiquitita had babies again in the summer of 2009. Few of them lived, however...perhaps 5 or 8.

As it stands this morning, I have 27 cockroaches. I haven't bothered to name any except Blackie, who has a very strange solid black coloring.
